Georgie
Walking In The Summer Breeze With You Will Make Me Feel Fine!️ Hi…my names is Georgie! Here are some pictures of me from my puppyhood through now.... I am a 3-year-old, neutered & microchipped, male Westie looking for a new home where I can get loads of love and attention from an older couple (or a retired couple). In other words, a couple who has tons of time to spend with me. I am not fond of small children, and I get overwhelmed with too much touching. I am current on all of my vaccines and I seem to be OK with other small dogs. Please consider adopting me so that I can be out of my crate! I spend too much time in my crate due to current circumstances and I cannot wait to run and play with you! |

Bourdeaux (Boo)
Are you ready to fall in love with Boudreaux this summer? Here is some information about your new love, Boudreaux, nicknamed, “Boo!” Hello…my name is Boo. I am an affectionate 3-year-old, 22 ½ pound, neutered, male Westie searching for a kind, caring, and loving home. My elderly owner had to surrender me, and I am currently being fostered by a vet tech who is microchipping me soon. The Westie Rescue of Western PA will be providing for such medical care and I will come with veterinarian records from my owner. I get along well with other dogs, but I do NOT get along well with cats or hamsters/gerbils. I love to get combed but DO NOT brush me as I do NOT like brushes. I am in good health and am housebroken. My new family will have to spend a lot of time hanging out with me as I do not want to be alone. I do not know how I will be with children yet because my owners were senior citizens. I love cuddling and sitting at your side, but I do NOT like to be moved or pushed onto my side. I look forward to meeting my new, patient, loving, kind, and caring family! If you think we would be a good match, please contact Bob Murphy, Coordinator of Westie Rescue of Western PA, at 814-598-0697 immediately and make sure that you have an application on file. You must have an adoption application on file to be eligible to adopt me and my adoption fee is $300.00. Thank you most kindly, Boo, Bob Murphy, & The Westie Rescue of Western PA |

Tinkerbell
Congratulations are in order! Tinkerbell was adopted by Nancy-Katherine Nesbit & her husband, Bill! Tinkerbell is sprinkling her magic pixie dust on you in order to find her new home! Hi, I am Tinkerbell, and I am a spayed female Westie who is 7 years young. My mommy had to go to an assisted living home and was told that she can no longer keep me. I am very sad; I miss her. I am looking for a loving home where I can spread my magic and love! I am up to date on all of my shots and have no known allergies, nor am I on any medications. I was given Bravecto, however, as my flea, tick, & worm medicine. My veterinary records will come with me. Purina One Chicken and Rice is my favorite dog food, and I prefer it placed into a bowl when I eat. Small bone dog biscuits are my favorite treats. I am house trained (the majority of the time), and I have never had obedience training. Because my mother was unable to take care of me in that way, I need to be let out to go to the bathroom and asked if, “I want to go whiz.” Since my owner was in need of an assisted living environment, I seldom got exercise. Just show me my collar and I will be ready to go for my walk! I am used to sleeping in a bedroom. My favorite toy is ‘Squeaky,’ and that toy is coming with me! I also have a ball, Teddy Bear, and other toys that will be coming with me as well. I like playing with Squeaky and also ‘tug of war.’ I am good with older kids, children under 9 years of age, and other dogs. Barking at fireworks is one of my favorite activities during the summer holiday and I travel well in the car when going on vacations. My dream home is a loving one where I get to go for walks and play with toys, all with my special someone. Because my mommy was in need of an assisted living environment, I have a lot of energy needing to be released and I long for your attention… Just say the word and I will sprinkle my pixie dust and fly right into your arms! |

Diamond
STATUS ON DIAMOND: Diamond has BOTH a foster home in order to get vetted AND a furever home once the vetting is done! THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO SHARED AND SHOWED INTEREST! Would You Help This Rare Diamond? An Urgent Message from Bob Murphy: Hello, all. I received a call from Liz (a cat rescue advocate/foster/volunteer) who is requesting help placing Diamond, a very sweet West Highland White Terrier, for her friend (a friend who took Diamond from a bad situation but cannot keep her either). As previously mentioned, Liz does cat rescues and cannot keep Diamond, nor does she have the extra space or funds to have her vetted. Liz called many local shelters on Diamond’s behalf, but none have the space right now to take in Diamond. Liz needs Diamond placed ASAP, hence the urgency. Diamond was rescued from a bad situation. She will need vet care for her eyes and a patch of irritated skin. Diamond was living with another older Westie that had to be euthanized due to poor health. Diamond weighs approximately 20 pounds and seems to be housetrained, but Liz is not sure if she is crate trained. Diamond is believed to be approximately 8-10 years old, is female, seems to be OK with cats, and was living with another dog like her (that sadly needed to be euthanized) so she may enjoy the company of another small dog. Despite what she has been through, Diamond is very spunky and friendly. Right now, we are in need of someone to foster Diamond IMMEDIATELY while dealing with her vetting. The Westie Rescue of Western PA will cover Diamond's vet costs. Diamond is the personification of the saying, "A diamond in the rough." Let's treat her like the rare, precious Diamond that she is! If you can help, call me ASAP! Thank you, Bob 814-598-0697 |

Della
Adopt A Westie For Christmas? Della is one of three Westies that need to find their furever home this Christmas season! Della is a 17 pound, 7-year-old Westie who would like her owner all to herself (no other dogs or animals please!). Della is fiercely loyal and will always be by your side no matter where you go. She may come off as shy and might be fearful at first, but make no mistake, Della loves to play and romp around and will love you strongly with her whole heart! Della needs a quiet home with an owner that can devote their time to her. She enjoys walks, cuddling, treats, and her toys, but most of all, she enjoys being right next to her owner. Della has successfully learned how to do her business outside on a chain, but she may make a few mistakes every once in a while, especially when dealing with new situations or people. She knows how to use a pee pad in case she doesn't make it outside. Della is not fond of strangers, especially in her home, but with proper training she could learn to trust. Her adoption fee is $300.00 AND you MUST have an adoption application on file to be considered. The directions to adopt Della are above. |

Nosey
Adopt A Westie For Christmas? Nosey is one of two Westies that need to find their furever home this Christmas season! Nosey is a seven-year-old, tiny, 14 pound female Westie looking for a furever new home. Nosey loves attention and would most likely do best if she is the only dog in the home, but she does get along well with other dogs and people. Nosey will always be in your lap and will shower you in kisses! She is always excited to see you and will be an extremely loyal dog. Nosey has a lot of potential and is learning very quickly on how to become a lovable house pet. She does need a little bit of help with house training, but over the last few weeks of fostering, she has improved immensely. Nosey is an excellent walker and loves to roll around and fetch her toys; she is so playful! When she’s not playing, Nosey loves her naps. She has a heart of gold and just needs someone that will really take the time to give her the attention she deserves. Her adoption fee is $300.00 AND you MUST have an adoption application on file to be considered. The directions to adopt Nosey are above. |

Buster
Hi everyone! My name is Buster. I am a 9yo neutered male looking for a new home. I am current on all my vaccines and monthly meds. I would do best in a home where there are no other dogs or small children. I am crate trained also. I also like to bark when I get excited, but mostly I want to curl up with you on the couch. I love being petted. If you think you could provide the right home for me, please call Bob Murphy, Rescue Coordinator, at 814-598-0697. My adoption fee is $150. |

Please meet JJ. A neutered 9 year old westie. He is UTD on all vaccines.. His birthday is January 5, 2012. He likes to be outdoors to sunbathe and go on long walks. He likes women better than men. He likes smaller dogs but doesn’t do too well around bigger dogs ( a big dog tried to attack him once and ever since he’s been a little aggressive around bigger dogs). He usually ignores cats. He likes to chase bunnies and squirrels. He does better around older children 10 and older. He has allergies so he needs to take cyclosporine daily. He eats Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Hydrolyzed Protein Adult HP Dry Dog Food to help with his allergies. (No beef or chicken- will cause his allergies to become worse). |

Andy and JennyPlease say hello to Andy and Jenny. They are a 12 yo brother and sister pair in need of a new forever home. Their former owner passed away. They are UTD on shots and very friendly and sweet. They are healthy and very active. They must stay together. Andy is neutered but Jenny needs to be spayed.
CasperHi! My name is Casper. I am 13 yo and need a home. My former owner could no longer afford to care for me. I need someone who will help me heal my skin, and make sure my eyes and ears are in good shape. I am currently in foater care. I am friendly and outgoing around strangers. I do well with most kids but like older ones better. I have not spent much time around other dogs. I am respectful and relaxed and playful around cats. Right now I am low energy.
When my owner is home I like to follow them around. I do go out to potty but have had accidents in the house because I need to be on a schedule. I sleep in a bed. I am not crate trained. I will snap if pushed or pulled off furniture or when disturbed while sleeping. I need someone to love and care for me. DubbyThis is Dubby. He is approx 10yo. He is in good health, just a little overweight. He is very nice and gentle. His owner passed away last Friday and the family can't keep him. He misses being with his master so he needs a family to love him.
Winston and BaxterMeet Winston and Baxter. They are 5 and 10 yo. They are looking for a new forever home. Their former owner is no longer able to care for them. They are UTD on shots. Currently in foster care! Available for adoption now! They like children and do well with most dogs.
Buddy and Peanut Meet Buddy and Peanut. They are 8 year old brothers who must stay together. We are seeking a temporary foster or permanent home for these adorable boys. They were surfrendered due tothe owner having difficulty properly caring for them. hey are UTD on vaccines. They are very sweet. They get along with other dogs. They are in good health. They need some retraining about housebreaking but they do go outside.
TobyPlease say hello to Toby! Toby will be 2 years old in December, neutered male, who is up to date on vaccines. This adorable little guy does have some digestive issues which will require attention and a special diet. In general, Toby is a wonderful, sweet, and loving dog. He does have some aggression issues because of his health and if he is in new environments. But, with the right training and an experienced, patient Westie parent, we believe Toby will succeed. Toby loves to be with be with people and cannot wait to sit down with you. He previously lived with older children (9 and 12 years old) who know how to properly interact with a dog. We do not think he would do well with small children and cats are likely to be an issue, as he likes to growl and chase them. Toby is hoping to find a fur-ever home that will be patient to his needs and provide the medical care and training needed.
Cassie and ClaraThese two adorable girls are looking for a loving home together! Cassie and Clara are a dynamic duo! Both are a westie-mix. Cassie, who is 7 years old, is the white dog. Clara, who is 6 years old, is the smaller tan dog. Both girls are spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Cassie and Clara are housebroken and would do best in a home without young children, as they can be overwhelming for Clara.
Cassie is a friendly and happy dog. She is great company, she’ll follow you around and loves to snuggle. Cassie loves to play with her toys and relax on her sofa bed. Clara is a loveable dog but is more shy and nervous than Cassie. Once Clara gets comfortable with you, she will lay down and cuddle all day if you let her. It does take a while for Clara to warm up, but once she does you’ll have a best friend. Clara will often stay in another room away from the action when guests are in the house. JackThis is Jack! Jack is an 8 year old Cairn terrier, the “cousin” to the Westie. He is neutered and up to date with his vaccinations. Jack came in to the Westie Rescue under some difficult circumstances and is looking for a loving forever home. Jack’s owner has serious illnesses and is unable to care for Jack. In addition to the owners own medical issues, it was also discovered that Jack has diabetes, which was hard for his owner to deal with. Jack has received the medical care and treatment that he needed and still has his true spunky terrier personality. Jack’s senior age does not seem to have any impact on his energy level. He is a real sweetheart who is fun-loving, friendly, playful, happy, and a “people-lover.” Jack previously was the only dog in the house, but he does get along with other dogs. With Jack’s diabetes, he will need insulin twice a day and maintain a healthy diet.
JJ
JJ is a very sweet 10 year old neutered male who is up to date on vaccinations and is housebroken as well as crate trained. He does suffer from allergies and his current family can no longer afford his medical care. JJ requires medication for his allergies. Sometimes JJ licks his paws so much they become raw and bleed. He needs someone who is willing to give the time, attention, and care for his allergies. A bath twice a week is also recommended. JJ does well with other dogs, has lived with a cat (they loved each other), and is good with children ages 7 and up. In true westie fashion, JJ will run if he sees a rabbit, deer, or other wildlife. JJ loves going for walks and also travels well in the car. JJ deserves a loving forever home in his senior age and would be a wonderful addition to a family. |
RUSTY
Allow us to introduce Rusty! Rusty is 8 years old and is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and microchipped. This little guy has lots of love to give and he is very sweet. Currently, he is working on house breaking; however this issue could also be contributed to Rusty being nervous in his new surroundings. He also loves to bark, which could also just be nerves. Rusty is crate trained. He loves food and has bit a young child who was feeding him. Because of this, Rusty needs to be fed only in his crate. Rusty needs lots of love and someone to play with…he loves playing with squeaky toys and toys he can chew on! He cannot be in a home where he is ignored or left alone during the day. Rusty also needs to gain some weight, as he is very skinny. Rusty is doing well with the other small dog at this foster home, we are not sure how he is with cats.

MAVERICK
This adorable little guy is Maverick! He is one year old, neutered, and up to date on his shots. Maverick is house trained and can let himself out to a fenced yard through a doggy door. A fenced in yard or leash at all times is a must, as he will run. A recommended home for Maverick is one with no children or other pets. His unpredictable behavior does not suit him well in a house with small children, as he can also be aggressive with them. Maverick is also aggressive when guarding something of importance to him or while resting. He likes to chase his tail in spurts, as it is a repetitive behavior for him. For this, Maverick does take daily medication to calm him down. Maverick loves to chase balls, especially large balls. He is a very loving companion, who is very smart. He enjoys going on walks and loves to be massaged. And, just like any westie, Maverick will dig and can smell vermin from a mile away!

OSCAR
This is Oscar, or at times Ozzie. He is a one year old male who is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. He is house broken and crate trained. Oscar cannot be in a house with other animals or small children (under 10 years old). Sometimes his aggression and anxiety get the best of him, he has been known to snip when tired and someone reaches for him… but, we think with proper (and maybe professional) training he can be a lot better! Oscar loves to go on walks, run around in the yard, play with his toys, and in true westie fashion – dig when he gets bored! Sometimes he would like to snuggle on the couch with you and other times he just wants to be left alone in his crate. If you have the patience and time to train and work with Oscar, he will be a great addition to the family! If you are interested in Oscar, please email us at [email protected]. Adoption fee is $300. |
Chippers.
Chippers is a male who is almost 9 years old. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. Chippers does well in the house, as he is crate trained. This little guy is great with kids and other dogs; however, he does not get along with cats. Chippers loves to snuggle and is a fantastic lap dog. Any westie lover knows that the breed can have skin issues…Chippers was unable to escape this. His skin issues will require specialized veterinary care. Chippers cannot wait to find the love, attention, and care that a new fur-ever home will provide him! If you are interested in Chippers, please email us at [email protected]. Adoption fee is $150.

Ollie and Griffin.
Ollie is a young male westie who is 2 years old. Griffin is a male scottie mix who is approximately 3-4 years old. Both dogs are neutered and up to date on all vaccines. It is highly preferred that Ollie and Griffin be adopted together! But they can be separated if absolutely necessary. Griffin does not do well with small children, and he will growl, but has never been known to bite or snap. If they have to be separated, Ollie needs to be in a home with another small dog as a playmate and companion. Both dogs are very affectionate and love attention. When Ollie gets excited, he tends to urinate a little. They are very loving and easy to manage.
If you are interested in Ollie and Griffin please email us at [email protected]. Adoption fee for both is $400 ($300 for Ollie and $100 for Griffin).
